15. LYDIA 3 DUNHAM (John2,1) born say 1656-8;[1] died in the winter of 1718/19.[2] Lydia married about 1684 as his second wife ROBERT BARROWS,[3] son of John and Anne (--) Barrows.[4] He married first in Plymouth 28 November 1666 Ruth Bonham.[5] Robert Barrows died between 9 and 19 December 1707.[6] Robert Barrows homestead was on the northerly side of what is now Summer Street in Plymouth.
The connections between the Dunham family and the Barrows family are quite intricate. Relationships between these two families continued for several generations. Therefore, a summary of these relationships is given below.
By his first wife (Ruth Bonham) Robert Barrows had the following children: [7]

- iv. Samuel Barrows, b. about 1672; d. 30 December 1755
- v. Mehitable Barrows, m. before 1699 Adam Wright
- vi. Ruth Barrows, b. about 1680 m. 23 December 1703 John Briggs
The surname is spelled Barrow, Barrows, Burroes, Burrows and other variations. The generation that moved from Sharon, Connecticut to Saratoga County, New York just prior to 1790 commonly used the spelling Barrass. There are several families living in Whitehall, Washington County, New York who appear on the 1790 Census under the spelling Burrows.
