LINE OF DEACON JOHN DUNHAM OF PLYMOUTH
THIRD GENERATION IN AMERICA

style="color:000000"</a>

17. SAMUEL 3 DUNHAM (Samuel 2 John1 ) born in Plymouth about 1653;[1] died in Plymouth before 25 February 1717/18, the date on which inventory of his estate was taken.[2] Samuel married in Plymouth 30 June 1680 MARY HARLOW,[3] daughter of Sergt. William and Mary (Faunce) Harlow.[4] Mary was born 19 May 1659;[5] died 8 January 1743 in her 84th year.[6] Samuel left no written will, so we cannot see how he spelled his surname. The recorded death of Samuel’s widow shows “widdow of ye Late Saml Donham Deceasd...” [7]

Samuel Dunham signed as witness to deed 23 Jan. 1687 of Wm. Harlow for land at “high pines.” (Ref. MD 35:147) Samuel Dunham bought land from Ebenezer and Hannah (Rickard) Eaton prior to their moving to North Yarmouth, Maine in 1731. (Ref. MD 42:14 & Ply. LR 12:50-51) Hannah Rickard was Samuel’s second cousin, daughter of Hannah 2 (Dunham) Rickard.[8]
