LINE OF DEACON JOHN DUNHAM OF PLYMOUTH

FOURTH GENERATION IN AMERICA

260. LYDIA 4 DUNHAM (Nathaniel 3 Joseph 2 John 1) born in Plymouth or Plympton say 1703, died after 29 February 1753 when her son Nathaniel relinquished his share of his mother’s dowry. [1] Lydia is placed as a daughter of Nathaniel 3 and Mary (Tilson) Dunham on the basis of her marriage in Plympton and the naming of a son Nathaniel. She was not listed on the support agreement as a child of Bathsheba, widow of Eleazer 3 Dunham [2] and her marriage date of 1724 would not reasonably allow her to be a child of any other Dunham. Lydia married in Plympton 8 July 1724 JOHN DOTY, [3] son of John and Mehitable (Nelson) Doty. [4] John Doty was born in Plymouth 5 February 1700/1, and he died in Plympton between 19 January 1748 and 3 April 1749, the dates on which his will was written and probated. [4]

Children of John and Lydia (DUNHAM) DOTY: [5]

i. Edward 5 Doty b. 4 May 1725
ii. Ebenezer Doty b. ca. 1727
iii. Elizabeth Doty b. ca. 1729
iv. Nathaniel Doty b. ca. 1731, d. unm. [6]
