Shubael was a Sea Captain / Master Mariner / Sloop Master. He was born and lived in Edgartown until 1762 when the family moved to Tisbury [10]. Lydia’s parents had moved to Martha’s Vineyard Island before 1729 and resided in Homes Hole where her father was a hatter, and to Edgartown about 1737 where they owned a lot on the harbor front [11].

Edmund was a master mariner and later in life a trader. His will was dated 23 Oct 1809 and probated 4 Dec 1809 [9].

Mildred was living in Grant Precinct, Red Willow on 1 June 1900 with her parents and siblings [9]. Then in 1910 the family was found in Downs, Sumner, KS [10]. Ward was living in Nemaha, Nemaha, KS in 1885, age 4, with his parents and siblings [11] in Bluff, Sumner, 13 Jun 1900 [12] and in Falls, Sumner, 27 Apr 1910, with his parents and siblings [13].

By 1915, Mildred and Ward, who was a Machinist, had married and they had 4 children living in Falls [14]. He registered for the World War 1 Draft in Corbin, Sumner, KS, 12 Sep 1918 [15]. They still lived in Falls in 1920 having added another child to the family [16] and by 1930 the 3 more children had been born and Ward operated a grader, working on Public Roads. The Family owned their home, valued at $300.00 and it had a Radio [17]. In 1940, the family had moved to Wellington where Ward was a Tractor Operator for the County. Both Nettie and Luella had married in the mid 1930’s [18].

He enlisted in the US Army, 25 Sep 1918 [16] and departed for Europe from Hoboken, NJ, the Port of New York, on The Empress of Asia as a private with the 312th Motor Repair Unit, Co. C 12 Nov 1918, 1 day after the end of World War 1 [17]. He Departed from Bordeaux, France, 3 Jul 1919, returning to Brooklyn 15 Jul 1919 on the Santa Malta and went to Camp Mills, Mineola, NY [18]. It appears that he was discharged 24 Jul 1919 [19].

After getting married in Colorado in 1920 we next find the family in Green River, Sweetwater, WY in 1930 and Leslie was working as a Stoker in an Electric Power Plant [20]. In 1934 he was working as a Fireman at an Electric Power Plan, living in Rock Springs, Sweetwater, [21] and in 1940 as a Turbine Operator at a Public Utility Co. living back in Green River [22]. The family was in Salt Lake City before 1942 when he was working as a Fireman for the Utah Power & Light Co [23]. He registered for the WW2 Draft on 27 Apr 1942, residing at 326 East South Temple [24]. Leslie was a Surveyor in 1948 [25] and a Water treater in 1949 thru 1960 [26]. He was retired by 1965 [27].

Chandler, Maricopa, AZ, 23 Feb 2014. Frank m. 2nd in 1986, Joyce Hill [6]. Alice and Frank raised their family in Salt Lake City and Corona del Mar, Orange, CA. Frank and Joyce lived in Sun Lakes, Maricopa, AZ for 27 years [7].

Francis Joseph ‘Frank’ Flynn grew up in Waterloo, IA, graduating in 1938 from Our Lady of Victory Academy High School. He attended Drake University before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was commissioned on 2 Nov 1942. He served in WW2 as a Captain for the Air Transport Command in both the Europe-Africa-Middle Eastern and Pacific-Asiatic Theaters until 18 May 1946. He was hired by Western Airlines as a Captain but took a furlough in 1948-1949 to fly missions in the Berlin Airlift. He returned to Western Airlines and retired in 1980 as a Captain on the DC-10 Aircraft [8].
