42. DANIEL T. 4 DUNHAM (Daniel A. 3 Daniel 2 Joseph 1) born in Tennessee about 1814.
“Daniel Thomas Dunham…fought with Sam Houston at San Jacinto as a private in the Regular Artillery Corps. After the war he became postmaster at Retreat Plantation in Montgomery County…He never married and had no children.” [1]
Daniel T. Dunham appears on the 1850 census in Grimes County, Texas living with his brother Joseph H. Dunham. His occupation is given as “none”. There is a Thomas Dunham on the 1860 census of Grimes county, Texas whose occupation is listed as “lawyer”. This is probably Daniel Thomas 4 Dunham.
D. T. Dunham appears on the list of Slave owners in the Grimes Co., Texas Records.
